I’m a bit late in posting this due to travels. This month’s short story selections are up at PopMatters. Here are stories from Lucia Berlin, Na’am al-Baz, Mia Alvar, Hananah Zaheer, and Laura van den Berg — all looking at working women, whether white-collar, blue-collar, or the gig economy.

Truly, I feel there’s a huge gap with fiction focusing on women in the workplace. And there are so many fertile topics and themes to explore there, don’t you think? Unequal pay and sexual harassment are just the tip of the iceberg.

So take some time to read through these insightful and well-written five stories, won’t you?
